ROUTINE HEALTH EXAMS
- Including Health certificates
IN-HOUSE BLOOD SCREENING
- Lasercyte for blood cell counts including a reticulocyte count
- Idexx Vet test - Blood chemistry enzyme panels allows evaluation of kidney and liver function along with other values such as glucose to give an overall health screen.
- Idexx Vetlyte - for assessment of Electrolytes such as sodium, potassium and chloride
- Idexx Inhouse Snap T4 - Assess level of thyroid hormone
FECAL ANALYSIS
- Fecal floatation - a routine screening which is quick and includes microscopic evaluation.
- Fecal centrifugation technique - Highly sensitive method for detecting difficult parasites such as whipworms and giardia. Technique employs centrifuging sample for total of 20 minutes and microscopic assessment.
PARVO TESTING
Provides quick, accurate, in-house detection of a highly aggressive infectious disease.
URINALYSIS
Check for bacteria, glucose, white blood cells, red blood cells, urine crystals and specific gravity. When combined with a Chem10, Chem15 or Chem17, it provides a complete assessment of kidney function.
HEARTWORM SCREENING
Currently the Snap 4Dx test utilized assesses for not only heartworms, but also Lyme disease, Erhlichiosis and Anaplasmosis
ROUTINE VACCINATIONS
We offer puppy packages at a discounted rate to keep your pet happy and healthy.
- The vaccinations we carry for dogs are DHPP, Lepto, Lyme, Kennel Cough, and Rabies.
- The vaccinations we carry for cats are Feleuk, DRC, and Rabies.
ULTRASOUND
Allows complete evaluation of soft tissues in a non-invasive approach
ENDOSCOPY
Allows access to the Gastro-Intestinal tract as well as nasal and ear passages with high quality visualization. With the endoscope unit biopsy samples can be taken as well as some small foreign bodies can be removed.
LASER SURGERY
Laser surgery allows precision cutting with control of bleeding. Laser surgery is an excellent option for declaws on cats, oral surgery and mass removals. Ask one of our doctors or technicians for more information.
ROUTINE SPAY AND NEUTER
ADVANCED ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY
ADVANCED SOFT TISSUE SURGERY
ROUTINE DENTAL CLEANINGS
ADVANCED DENTISTRY
Advanced dentistry includes surgical extractions, soft tissue gingival surgery, root canal therapy, root planing therapy and periodontal therapy.
DIGITAL RADIOLOGY
Digital radiology involves using the same equipment and x-ray beam as before, but the film is replaced by a digital plate that transfers the image to a computer screen. This image is then able to be manipulated by the doctor to enhance, magnify or zoom in on area to aid in diagnostics. The exceptional clarity produced by this image and the speed at which it is produced decreases the amount of time animals need to be under sedation and decreases stress for animal that are not sedated. The technological advances made in digital radiology are making diagnostics easier for doctors and pets alike
LOGIQ E ULTRASOUND
Our innovative ultrasound technology aids in many diagnostic procedures. It gives our doctors the ability to “see inside” the patient, many times eliminating the need for invasive exploratory surgeries. We can obtain valuable information regarding urinary tract infections and tumor growth and development. Ultrasound guided biopsies can be obtained and the samples can be sent for pathology without the stress of extensive surgery. Full scale images with incredible clarity give greater diagnostic confidence.
IM3 PRO2000 DENTAL MACHINE
The IM3 Pro2000 Dental unit is used by many veterinarians and veterinary teaching universities around the world. Dentistry should not be thought of as cosmetic but rather a total health solution since periodontal disease also affects the heart, lungs, liver and kidneys. The Pro2000 dental system has many features including a high speed drill hand piece, a low speed motor, suction and a 3 way air/water syringe. The high speed drill features fiber-optic lighting which enables the veterinarian to see what he or she is doing. Overhead lighting is not suitable as their head gets in the way. The low speed motor is used for polishing the teeth. The lower speed and figure 8 movement of the polishing cup reduces the amount of heat generated as the tooth is polished. The suction tip has various strengths and a bacterial filter helping to prevent the pet from swallowing tartar and debris. The 3 way air/water syringe provides a flush or rinse using water or CLS (a chlorhexadine solution). The IM3 Pro 2000 also features an ultrasonic scaler with coolant outlet to allow pressurized water or CLS to be supplied while the teeth are being cleaned. The ultrasonic scaler, with its unique rotational tip movement and ultrasonic removal of plaque and calculus allows it to clean teeth quickly and gently.
OUR LAB
Our Laboratory has a Lasercyte machine, a Catalyst Dx, Catalyst One, and a snapshot Dx for blood testing.
- The lasercyte gives us a full 5 part white blood count (WBC) differential and comprehensive, red blood count (RBC) indices. These check for infections and anemia in dogs and cats.
- The catalyst Dx is used to monitor the health status of specific organs. We use this to check liver and kidney values before putting an animal under anesthesia. We can also check a full general health profile if the animal is sick.
- The snapshot Dx is used to test an animal’s thyroid level. An animal can produce too much thyroid hormone or not enough. Once we know where the thyroid level is, we can treat accordingly.
LASER SURGERY ON YOUR PET
Laser surgery can be used to replace a scalpel in many routine surgeries. There are many advantages a laser can offer your pet which would make it more comfortable after its surgical procedure. One advantage would be the pain factor. The laser energy moves through the skin and seals nerve ending meaning less pain postoperatively. It also seals small blood vessels as it cuts, which means less bleeding. With just a beam of intense light passing through the tissue, it doesn’t get crushed, torn or bruised so there is also less discomfort due to the decreased amount of trauma. Laser surgery can be used for a wide variety of different procedures in dogs, cats, birds and other pets. This procedure can be used for spays, neuters, declaws, cyst, tumor and wart removals. It is also very helpful when being used around the ears and in the mouth. Your veterinarian can inform you as to whether or not your pets procedure can be performed with a laser.
